Description
Large, serious no-loitering sign in an empty grassy field at Ellington Field, Houston, Texas, provided a humorous start to our event-filled day. Shot just after sunrise on the first day of the 2013 Wings Over Houston Air Show, before the crowds arrived.
In the movie “Field of Dreams,” there’s a famous line: “If you build it, they will come.” Eventually they did, and the grassy field was filled with cars. But at this moment, in the wee hours of morning, the grassy field was vast, utterly empty, and not what one would think of as a parking lot. And, unless you count me and my Nikon, no loiterers. Still, I was impressed at how Wings Over Houston had covered the bases, and nicely so.
On behalf of the Commemorative Air Force, which produces Wings Over Houston, The Point Group has granted permission to display this and other images from this year’s air show. My thanks to these organizations. According to Wings Over Houston, publicity for the show greatly benefits our community, so feel free to promote. Your votes/likes, faves, and comments are welcome too.
