Description
Roadside field of Texas bluebonnets, the official flower of the great state of Texas, sprinkled with red Indian paintbrush and small yellow wildflowers. This assortment of classic Texas wildflowers fills the entire frame. You may also be interested in my Indian Paintbrush image, which can found in this album (or soon). In 2012, bluebonnet season came a bit early. These were shot on March 26, 2012 and processed in 2014.

My favorite, too, George. There's an excitement that everyone shares about all that's going on--rodeo, azaleas blooming everywhere, and wildflowers! Thanks for your lovely comment.

Jerry, I always appreciate your comments. Indian paintbrush and bluebonnets are a classic Texas combination during wildflower season. They love to hang out together. Thanks so much for your vote and for helping promote this image!

Beautiful shot! The little hits of the red flowers among the purple ones really make it. l/v tweeted. Jerry

Thanks, Robert. Wildflower season will soon arrive in Texas--probably the end of March or beginning of April--and I can't wait to position my camera while watching for rattlesnakes. Thanks, too, for your v/f/t. I appreciate the promotion!
