Description
The Golden Gate Bridge is featured in this painterly scene as viewed from the San Francisco mainland, across San Francisco Bay, toward the town of Sausalito, California. Similar views of the bridge, both vertical and horizontal as well as color and black-and-white, can be found in my San Francisco and other galleries.
With perfect timing, a sailboat came along and was about to pass under the bridge when I captured this shot. A portion of the arch built above an old fort can be seen at the base of the bridge on the San Francisco side. Sausalito lies across San Francisco Bay, mid-day fog fills the sky, and the aqua waters of the bay have been given a special luminosity, as have portions of the bridge.

As my top image with over 500 views, this view of San Francisco Bay was the Second Place Winner of the California Coast contest, sponsored by California Coast Photography in March 2014. Unfortunately the original image was among those lost and could not be retrieved by FAA. So when I started over and reprocessed it, I chose to do so with digital effects. The colors therefore look a bit more vivid, and there's a gleam to the water and portions of the bridge. I hope you enjoy it and will choose it for a wall of your home or office. .
