Description
Full side view photograph, in color, of a Triceratops horridus (a horned ceratopsian), a dinosaur skeleton on display at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston, Texas, USA.
Dinosaurs are said to have first appeared during the Triassic period, 231.4 million years ago. This suborder, a horned ceratopsia, is said to have lived on earth from 158 to 66 million years ago, which would place it in the late Jurassic to late Cretaceous periods.
