Red knockout rose bush in the town square in Bellville, Texas, in springtime features a single flower. This one is a real show-stopper, primarily bright red with shocking pink toward the center. Very clean image, unenhanced, with an astonishing array of colors!
Knockout rose bushes require little or no maintenance. Their bloom cycle produces rich cherry red blooms that will continue until the first hard frost. They are available in several other colors and types, including double red and double pink. All are resistant to black spot, and are drought tolerant and self-cleaning. Knockout rose bushes grow to ten to twelve inches tall, and mine are much taller than that, requiring a little trimming to keep them within bounds. Mine are especially fond of banana peels and coffee grounds. Though they don't require trimming, they bloom more when I snip the old buds off. We all enjoy a little attention.

Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
