Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - Art

Late winter in Houston, Texas, brings trailriders to town. These are real cowboys and cowgirls from all over the state, traveling by covered wagon and on horseback, rain or shine. The festivities kick off with "Go Texan Day," the Friday when the trailriders arrive and everyone dons their western-wear, a tradition that carries over to dressing western for church and at the office. Add a downtown parade, carnival rides, great food, shopping, and the rodeo, with its bull-riding, calf-scrambles, and more. Top it off with a series of shows by famous performers, and a livestock auction at which millions of dollars are raised for college scholarships. It's the biggest annual event in Houston, and it's so darn fun. Y'all come join us!
