Description
Beautiful antique stained-glass panel used as a room divider at the vintage Renaissance Revival-style Ant Street Inn, an historic boutique bed-and-breakfast in downtown Brenham, Texas, USA. Also known as the Schmid Bros. Building, the Ant Street Inn was originally a mercantile business, built in 1899-1900. The business was started in 1880 by Josef Schmid, who later was joined by his two brothers.
Whether you are a Texan or visitor to our great state, I recommend the Ant Street Inn for excellent food and service, warm Texas hospitality, unique accommodations, and special events, including weddings and receptions.
The official medallion near the entrance honors this inn, with its restaurant, accommodations, and special-events center, as a Registered Texas Historic Landmark, according to the Texas Historical Commission. You will find a close-up of the medallion, including its history, in my Vintage Gallery. Photographed with permission. My thanks to the staff, who encouraged me to do so.
Should you wish to purchase this image for rights-managed commercial or editorial use, please contact the Ant Street Inn, Brenham, Texas, to obtain appropriate permission, if needed, and depending upon intended use. Commercial use must be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
