Description
Native Texas limestone cistern and main building, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin, Texas, USA. Native plants, flowers, and trees flank a curved path leading up to the main building, of which the limestone cistern is a unique architectural part. The Wildflower Center is the research unit of The University of Texas at Austin, nationally recognized for applied research and demonstration projects that show us new ways to protect our natural environment. Its architecture honors Texas pioneers as well as the state's Spanish mission heritage.
Weddings are among the many events hosted here throughout the year. We had a family wedding here. Image was taken in October 2011 with a Nikon D80.
