Description
A Chinese Fringe Flower shrub shows off its bright pink blossoms on an autumn morning after the rain. Raindrops sparkle on leaves that vary in color from green to bronze-red. The flowers are about one inch in diameter, shocking pink in color, and fringed in appearance. Horizontal color image with pretty bokeh throughout.
This shrub, known as Loropetalum chinense, or L. chinense, is the pink flowering variety. Another variety blooms in yellow. Chinese fringe flower plants produce the best color when grown in fertile, acidic soil in full sun. Under those conditions, they will produce prolific clusters of flowers and showy foliage, especially in the fall. This image was shot in morning shade.

Thanks, Terry Cobb, for featuring this image in Seen But Not Noticed. There's so much in the world that surrounds us with beauty and should cause us to pause and take notice, even when that beauty lies in the ordinary. That's why I so appreciate your group!
