Description
A mother dove sits patiently awaiting the birth of her young on a nest that she and the father have built in a protected area. Tragically, despite her best efforts, Evil came along in the night and destroyed her babies. Life can deal harsh blows, but she was still right to try her best to protect them.
This one bird set a good example for me personally, especially with her tenderness and patience. She almost literally never moved. Have you ever had birds bring twigs and sticks to your window, then peck on the window as if to say, "Look what I found!" Doves do that at this home, and it's wonderful.
Photographed in spring, in neutrals, with interesting leading lines and texture. Cropped to the equivalent of a 7x5. Especially suited to a greeting card, tote bag, or pouch.
