Description
Gorgeous outdoor black-and-white waterfront photograph of the community clubhouse on Lake Firethorne in Katy, Texas. Posted with permission.
Firethorne is a master-planned suburban community west of Houston’s Grand Parkway and south of Interstate 10. This growing area, counting only the homes in the Katy Independent School District, recently equaled or surpassed the population of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Captured on a brilliantly clear summer day, this beautiful landscape image shows the clubhouse and sky reflected in the lake. In the foreground is a large mound of native grass, creating depth and leading the eye into the scene. No people.
The style of the area echoes that of the Texas Hill Country. The Hill Country is one of five major areas of Texas, and borders the Prairies and Lakes section of Texas in which Katy, originally a small rice farming community, is booming.
Cropped to the equivalent of 8x10, with larger sizes available. In this gallery and others, you will also find this image in color. Captured with an iPhone 5.
