Description
WINNER OF THE GEORGE F. G. STANLEY AWARD, SPECIAL FEATURE, Red Maple Gallery
A beautifully intact fossilized maple leaf fills the entire frame with luminous beauty in this tack-sharp horizontal photograph with minimal enhancements and no special effects, photographed with staff permission at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston, Texas, USA. Other interesting botanical objects and creatures are interspersed and seen on close inspection. Heavily textured with colors in the golden taupe or tan mid-tone range, making it ideal for interior decorating. This image might also appeal to Canadians, whose national symbol is the maple leaf.

This image is amazing, love the subject matter and the color and the texture.
Connie Fox replied:
Thank you, Greta. I ordered another fossil image and should add this one as a companion. How ironic that fossils would turn out to be an evergreen subject!
