Description
Digital arts effects have been applied by the artist to this original photograph of one flamingo-pink painted gas pump in a small rural Texas town. This style of gas pump was in its prime in the Sixties, more than half a century ago. Shot at an angle to bring out the funky feel. Blurred background. Bright, bold pink-red, and retro. Baby boomers will remember it well.
My thanks to the owner of this gas station in Eagle Lake, Texas, who gave me permission to freely photograph his place of business. Eagle Lake is located about 60 miles southwest of Houston.

Thank you, Sylvia Thornton, for the feature in 3-a-Day Greeting Cards. My apologies for the delay in thanking you, but my computer was in the shop and I missed it. Nevertheless, I thank you for your thoughtfulness in choosing "Funky Pump."

Thanks for the compliment, Robert, but it was about halfway to "old-looking" when I found it. Funny how we work hard to get certain images to look old, while trying to keep the image in the mirror as young-looking as possible! But I'm at least as old as this gas pump and remember it well.
