Description
This moody cloudscape in tones of gold and gray features a backlit portion of land silhouetted in the morning light and underscored by the sparkling silver waters of Glacier Bay.
This natural scene, with no people, features the tranquil beauty of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. The park and preserve include more than 3.2 million acres of forest, inlet and shore, mountain peaks rising over 15,000 feet, and amazing glaciers. Each is many miles in length, with its own distinctive history and face.
Interesting colors, shapes, and patterns in the beautiful sky filled with nimbo-stratus clouds hovering over a golden glow. This image may have been photographed near the National Park Service Ranger Station as our cruise ship, the Pacific Princess, entered Glacier Bay.
Nikon D7100, Nikkor 50mm/f1.8 lens, circular polarizer, and ND filter, shot outdoors with available light in early September 2015. This image has been cropped to the equivalent of 16x9 and signed by the artist. Larger sizes are available.
