Closeup photo of one lone yellow wildflower in Texas, with bright coral tones of Indian paintbrush and assorted foliage of the prairie filling the bokeh background. The flower is not yet identified, but the stalk looks like a pussy willow. As far as I know pussy willows do not grow in Texas.

I was shooting an interesting coral variety of Indian paintbrush when I spotted a bee on this lone yellow flower. As I tried to capture the bee with my new macro lens, he ducked behind the flower. All was not lost, for I came away with a rather abstract-looking wildflower image that has quickly become one of my personal favorites.
