Description
The final destination for our Alaska cruise ship was the beautiful city of Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Great first impression, Canada! This horizontal color photo features a daytime frontal view of the modern Pan Pacific Hotel Atop Canada Place's convention center and cruise ship terminals, this elegant five-star hotel with mountain and harbor views is a 3-minute walk from Howe Street's upscale shopping and, to these newcomers, appeared to function as the hub. After nearly two days here, we were already thinking ahead to a future trip that would allow more time in what would soon become one of our favorite cities.
This busy street scene includes people but no sky. The people include a bicyclist, cycling away from the camera, travelers seated on a bench in front of the hotel, and others. None can be identified. One also sees a shiny black sedan and bright yellow taxi, interesting reflections of nearby buildings, a red maple tree in fall colors, and the huge curved, lighted, grand hotel awning that provides protection from the elements.
Sidewalk view captured with a Nikon 7100 in September 2015. No special effects other than a touch of blurring.
FEATURED on the homepage of No Place Like Home, May 2017, Red Maple Gallery, and Just Perfect, June 2021. My thanks!
