Description

A carpet of wildflowers--mostly bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush--in front of a barbed-wire fence and tree bordering a lovely Texas farm. Shot on a sunny day March 26, 2012 on rolling hills northwest of Houston, on the way to Round Top. A Top Finisher in the "Spring in the Country" contest.

The date is included because wildflower seasons vary from year to year, and this year's crop of flowers arrived several weeks early. No one knew how the flowers would be impacted by the devastating statewide drought--whether there would be any (or many) and when they might bloom.
