Vintage white Gothic Revival church in the glow of late afternoon light, converted from color to black-and-white, then sepia--with noise added for an old newspaper look. (Also see color and black-and-white versions in this album.) This offset frontal view, framed by trees, features the steeple and cross of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located in the Port Townsend Historic District, Port Townsend, Washington.
Port Townsend is in Jefferson County, at the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula on Washington's north shore. A direct frontal shot, featuring the church's front steps and signature red double-doors, is also available in this album in color, black-and-white, and sepia. This is one of my favorites.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, built in 1865 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, is included in the Port Townsend Historic District, which was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977. The architect of the church is unknown.

This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
