Thank you, Dan, for featuring this tiny church at Hana, Maui, Hawaii, in FAA Featured Artists. I am honored that you chose it along with others, including the memorial stone for famous aviator Charles A. Lindbergh, who is buried on the grounds of this lovely church.

Artist's Description

On the grounds of this modest church, the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh is buried. The church is located near the small town of Hana, off the Hana Highway (the road to Hana, HI-360), which hugs the coastline on the island of Maui, Hawaii, USA.

Charles Lindbergh completed the first nonstop transatlantic flight on May 21, 1927. This 33-hour trip from New York to Paris forever changed Lindbergh's life and the future of aviation. Hailed as a hero, the shy young pilot from Minnesota was unwillingly thrust into the public eye. Lindbergh's unwelcome fame would later haunt him when his infant son was kidnapped for ransom and killed in 1932.

This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
