Description
Digital upward look at the underside of a magnificent old building in downtown San Francisco. Quite possibly built prior to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and showing off its classic architectural details: scrollwork, pediments, and all sorts of embellishments: a study in craftsmanship intricate details, and graceful beauty.
In keeping with the era during which it was built, what began as a color image was converted to a black-and-white and given a pewter tint with added noise. Then the artist accented the edges and solarized the image. The latter turned it to various shades of tawny browns and riveting blues, creating a striking and unusual piece of art.
