Description
As passengers on a land-and-sea Princess Cruise that began in Fairbanks, Alaska USA, and ended in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, we enjoyed various excursion options. With our ship docked in Skagway, north of Juneau, we chose to take the journey into Yukon (aka Yukon Territory) on the White Pass Scenic Railway on these vintage parlor cars. Each is named for Lake Munroe, one of the many elongated lakes in this area fed by glaciers.
This image includes several passengers seen from the rear at a distance, both men and women. It has been given a subtle painterly touch to further conceal identities. This is a Canadian landscape travel scene with people.
Yukon, a Canadian territory, is named after the Yukon River, the longest river in Yukon. Yukon borders the US state of Alaska to the west and northwest for 752 miles, the Northwest Territories (Canada) to the east, and British Columbia (Canada) to the south.
You will find more images from this day-trip through beautiful and sparsely populated wilderness land in my Canada Gallery, plus images from the entire cruise on the original Love Boat of TV fame in my Alaska Gallery.
