Description
Two horses--one brown and one white--running wild and carefree in a field of wildflowers near Brenham, Texas. Most are bluebonnets, the official flower of the great state of Texas. Bluebonnets bloom only in the spring, and all Texans (including horses!) can't help but get excited about them. Cloudy day in the spring of 2009; no sky and no people. A landscape and nature scene with no special effects.

We can miss California a little but Texas has a lot of beaty as well.. Nice capture Connie.
Connie Fox replied:
You're right about Texas, Jim! Good to hear from you. Hope you're doing well, my friend.

I can see that you have done a superb job of capturing and sharing the beauty of your neck of the woods, my lady. Texas hill country is positively gorgeous, especially in Spring when blue bonnets are going crazy. I was in Fredericksburg, Texas quite a few years ago. So, I know you live in such a lovely place. Your gallery is sheer delight, Connie.
Connie Fox replied:
What lovely thoughts and sentiments, Bijan, phrased in such an edifying way. Thank you so much!

Thank you, Frank Casella, for the many features of my images, including this one, in Compact Digital Camera Photographers! It paid to upgrade years ago to the Canon A630, when I couldn't quite make the leap to a DSLR. That gem of a point-and-shoot camera really came through for me many times.

Jim Carrell, what a thrill to see this image on the homepage of Comfortable Art. I remember the moment I took this picture, and the joy in these horses as they tried to gallop right out of the frame. Thank you, Jim, for honoring the official flower of the great state of Texas--bluebonnets!

Thank you so much, Janette. Glad to hear from a fellow Texan. This was actually one of my earliest images (i.e. clueless), but I still love the enthusiasm of the horses running out of the frame rather than into it, and this has become one of my most popular images! So occasionally we can break the rules, and it seems to work quite well.

This is a beautiful photo, Connie! I was born and raised in Texas and I love the bluebonnets but you have taken it to a higher level! Wonderful work! f/l
