Artist's Description
Black-and-white negative fine-art image of the north part of downtown Houston, adjacent to Theater District, solarized to give the appearance of a night shot. In front is (what was called at that time) the postmodern Bank of America Center, designed by Phillip Johnson and John Burgee, and built in 1983.
The image was shot from Wortham Center in 2000 with a Minolta Freedom Escort film camera. Wortham Center is home to Houston's world-renowned opera and ballet companies. This unique highrise, fourth tallest building in Houston and 53rd in the US, features segmented tower setbacks, each with a steeply pitched gabled roofline topped off with spires. It is probably the most easily recognized and unique building among the many in Houston's beautiful skyline.

About Connie Fox
This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...

Thank you, Harriet! I love hearing that, for it's one of my personal favorites--shot with a film camera years ago, then digitally converted.
