FEATURED ON THE MAIN HOMEPAGE OF FINE ART AMERICA
Interior color photograph of the library on the “Pacific Princess,” the original “Love Boat” of television fame. Glass-front wood cabinets hold a variety of books for passengers to enjoy during their cruise. Also shown are two upholstered chairs covered in blue checks, lending a cozy ambience to this peaceful, warmly appointed room, given an artistic touch.
Before the Love Boat (the “Pacific Princess”) was retired by Princess Cruise Lines in 2021, it was their smallest ship and known as a little globe-trotter. It had been purchased from Renaissance Cruise Lines, refurbished, and carried about 500 passengers, far fewer than a mega-ship but ideal for getting as close as possible to glaciers and the stunning scenery and topography of Yakutat Bay, Glacier Bay, and Inside Passage. We were fortunate to have booked it in 2015 for our Alaska Cruise Tour, not knowing the ship’s history but preferring a small ship. Once we were underway, we learned of its unique history.
