One lone tour boat appears to be taking in the last moments of a busy day of touring in Glacier Bay, Alaska, USA. The mountains of lower Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve lie in silhouette across the entire horizon. Below, the blue ripples of Glacier Bay reflect the beautiful sunset glow of the orange and yellow twilight sky.
From our perspective on another ship, the scene was a poignant moment in this vast and splendid icy region that we must now leave. In the morning we would awaken in Inside Passage, dock in Skagway, and travel by bus and rail into Canada’s Yukon Territory. This cruisetour was indeed the trip of a lifetime.
