Vertical color cityscape featuring the modern MNP Tower in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, alongside The Marine Building.
The Marine Building, in the foreground, was completed in 1930. It is considered (according to Ocean Cruise Guides) to be "Vancouver's finest example of art deco architecture. Its architects described this 25-storey structure as 'some great crag rising from the sea, clinging with sea flora and fauna, tinted in sea-green, touched with gold.'" Now there's some descriptive writing for you.
Beautiful image with an artistic look, not only from the standpoint of its unique architectural design but because of the point of view and perspective with which it was captured, and the contrast between vintage and modern--complementing one another. Digital editing retains the look of a photograph while bringing out the inherent Wow Factor in the tower's gorgeous shape and seemingly impossible curves, with the windows matching in color.
The MNP Tower, with its convex front and concave sides, stands 469 feet tall (144 meters), and has 36 floors. It was built in 2015, the same year as this image was taken. I have learned that Platinum LEED certification is being sought for this building, and that it will be Gold LEED at least. I would describe its unique curves with two words: stunning simplicity.
