ONE OF MY SOLD IMAGES, AVAILABLE AGAIN
North Fork of the Toutle River, shot downward from a bridge on Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, State Route 504, on the way to Mt. St. Helens. The volcano is active, and located not far from Olympia, Washington, south of Seattle. If you come to the beautiful state of Washington, and have the time, I highly recommend that you include a day-trip to Mt. St. Helens. Excellent movies shown at the Visitors Center give one a sense of what happened here, and are immensely helpful in understanding the magnitude of the devastation, and honoring the lives so tragically lost.
The violent, cataclysmic eruption of Mount St. Helens the morning of May 18, 1980 filled the North Fork of the Toutle River and its tributaries. By late August of 2012, when I visited the area, this part of the river had taken on a rather abstract look, with beautiful colors and patterns. I also experienced a peaceful serenity, in sharp contrast to it must have looked on that...
This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
