Uncropped macro image, captured near Brenham, Texas, showing three scarlet Indian paintbrush. These are a native Texas wildflower commonly appearing along the road and in fields in springtime--often found mixed with bluebonnets, the official flower of the great state of Texas.
These three, with two in focus on a dark-green background of foliage in bokeh, show the bright coral tones of just one of 200 varieties of Indian paintbrush. Assorted foliage of the Texas prairie fills the blurred green background.
Most likely this Castilleja indivisa, the variety commonly known as Texas paintbrush or entire leaf Indian paintbrush. But even this type of paintbrush can produce light yellow or white blossoms, making positive identification challenging. Nevertheless, these are especially bright and beautiful. This image works great for all the products!

This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
