Thank you, Dan Marinescu, for featuring this image in Premium FAA Artists. As you may have read, there's quite a heart-warming story associated with these grain hoppers. Shortly after I photographed them, they fell down. This photo is the that the owner has to remind her of the hoppers her father worked so hard to build long ago, when he built the entire farm.

Artist's Description

Two metal storage bins, or hoppers, once used for grain or feed, sit rusting in the sun on a beautiful clear spring day in Texas. Although these hoppers have seen better days, there's a certain beauty here as we are reminded of simpler times and hard-working people who historically have kept things running smoothly--and food on the table--for generations. Property release from owner is on file. Weeks later, she told me that these hoppers collapsed just weeks after I had taken this picture--a picture that meant the world to her, for her father had built the farm.

About Connie Fox

Connie Fox

This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
