Thank you, Judy Vincent, for a very nice feature in USA Photographers! What a great restaurant this was--heaping platters of the best fried chicken and far more, served family-style! Honored to share the memory of it.

Thank you, James, for featuring this new image on the homepage of Beauty. I am honored that you have chosen this famous Houston landmark, which sadly now is gone--and has been for more than 25 years. I can still smell the steaming platters of seafood, fried chicken, and homemade biscuits!

Hurricanes and sinking land beneath its replacement building, which survived until 1977, required that a second replacement be constructed just one hundred yards away from the building that had to be demolished. Few patrons could tell the difference. They just thought the restaurant had been updated or r...

This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
