Congratulations on your successful sale!

Connie Fox replied:

Thank you, Irina! I find it amazing that a faded snapshot in an old photo album can be restored, matted, and framed--then find its way to a discerning buyer's wall.

James, thank you so much for appreciating the beauty in this image, and choosing it as a featured image in the Beauty group. I won't try again to climb this mountain, as in my younger years, but I shall always love it. To see this reminder of what it's made of was an eye-opener! No wonder many people find it to be a difficult hike!

Both types of rock are seen in this image.

Camelback is an iconic landmark and sentinel of Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and derives its name from its shape, for it resembles the hump and head of a kneeling camel. Located between the Arcadia area and Paradise Valley, Camelback Mountain is a popular recreation destination for hiking and rock climbing. A cave discovered on the north side of Camelback indicates that it was used as a sacred site by the prehistoric Hohokam civilization before they abandoned the area in the 14th century.

When I lived in the Phoenix area in the 1960s, nearly all of Camelback Mountain had been sold to private parties. We wondered...

About Connie Fox

Connie Fox

This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. I enjoy making scenes look interesting and natural, as I saw them, and worthy of a place in your home, your office, your life. For 15 years I worked as a dental hygienist. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
