FEATURED ON THE FAA HOMEPAGE
Rural winter scene in the Prairies and Lakes region of Texas. This square-format landscape features two scraggly bare trees along a country road. Beyond the trees is a lake or pond (called a “tank” in Texas) that can hardly be seen in this black-and-white version. A barbed wire fence is shown, with some small buildings in the distance. Horizon depicts the flatness of the barren land, where this homestead touches the sky.
One sees many wildflower images of Texas in springtime. But I wanted to show the beauty of winter here, captured off the beaten track in the type of wild and rugged countryside encountered by the pioneers.
