Winter is different in tropical areas of the country, such as the vast Houston, Texas, USA, area adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico. Typically we get only a sprinkling of snow every ten years, so when it happens it’s a big deal and lots of fun. This is a typical winter scene here: peaceful, calming, and strikingly beautiful in its simplicity, with no snow. Moody sky with intriguing light; no people.
