FEATURED ON THE HOMEPAGE OF FINE ART AMERICA
Chinese tallow tree (Triadica sebifera), a deciduous tree, photographed in Denali National Park, Alaska. Before its leaves drop in the fall, they turn from green to beautiful shades of red, gold, orange, and purple.
Photographed on the last day of August, when we were greeted in the morning by the first snowfall of the season. The wintery conditions may have contributed to the background color of this image appearing naturally as a lovely shade of aqua--a perfect companion to the various shades of yellow, orange, and pale green that fill the entire frame, with dark twisted branches providing interesting patterns throughout.

Thank you, Carla. At first glance I thought these were aspen leaves, but a closer look told me they're Chinese Tallow. Like you, I love the colors, so whatever we call them, these pretty leaves are a visual treat.

Thanks for this feature, Steve--with special thanks for your timely comment. There's a nuisance aspect of this colorful tree, especially its invasive nature. Thankfully, though, the pretty colors can still be appreciated.
