Description
Beautiful, colorful macro photo, completely natural, whose square frontal view shows a red hibiscus blossom in the garden, covered with morning mist.
In addition to the tiny water droplets, interesting shapes and patterns in the petals emerge, including striations of yellow. Though it has an unexpected painterly look, this image is straight out of the camera except for cropping and minimal cleanup. No enhancements other than sharpening. Stamen and pistils cast their shadow on one of the petals, and the image has a nice bokeh.
To beautify a wall of your home or office, this color photo has been cropped to a perfect square. Larger sizes are available, as are greeting cards. Should you need a full-size, uncropped photograph of same flower, such as for a bookcover, print ad, or larger wall print, you will find it in profile view (two versions) in my Botanicals Gallery. You will find other hibiscus images there as well, in various crops, colors, and orientations.
Hibiscus are in the mallow family, Malvaceae, sometimes called rose mallow. A large vivid flower often made into tea or worn in the hair, and the symbol of many nations, hibiscus bloom daily in spring and summer in tropical or subtropical areas around the world. This red hibiscus plant thrives in Texas.
