Square macro image of two bright pink George L. Taber azaleas blooming on the Texas Gulf Coast in the month of March. The two primary pink flowers are surrounded by buds, filling the entire frame with glorious pink, along with healthy green azalea leaves.
Purchased for a dollar a gallon, these pink azaleas have weathered everything from hail to floods, long freezes, sleet, and even snow. The more they get beat up, the stronger and prettier they get. The homeowner doesn't even bother to cover them during a hard freeze anymore. Let them ride it out, she says, and they do.
