Description
A huge round evergreen, manicured to perfection. Located in the Pacific Northwest. To further protect the anonymity of the owner, I have changed the colors of the house, a technique that brought out more texture and subtle colors in the shrub. It was green as shot, but it's bright green now, with a small patch of blue sky and a coordinating two-story house. (The start of the second level is shown here.)
The changes, I think, lent a somewhat abstract look in this must-have piece of art. A real show-stopper and conversation piece. Picture this on your wall or as a greeting card. Sure to be the ideal gift for that special someone in your life.

I agree with Chance. Connie your instincts are spot on. A true natural abstract. Fltfb

I knew it was a true something, Gary, but I wasn't quite sure what. Thank you for enlightening me, and liking this image enough to share it. I'm impressed at your ability to appreciate and assess fine art.

What an outstanding, moving photo. The green and blue sky really make this a show stopper as you say. The shrub evokes such a feeling of grandness and shrubness. The specs of red in the rendering of the shrubby part of the shrub lend themselves to mastery of color theory. Brilliance on display!
Connie Fox replied:
So much fun and appreciation in one comment, Chance. ROFL. Your literary skills rival your art. Knowing that "the shrub evokes such a feeling of grandness and shrubness" is rivaled only by "mastery of color theory" and "brilliance on display." Let me know where to send your Academy Award for landscape writing.

I am thrilled beyond words, John Bailey, that you chose to feature this beauty on the homepage of Images That Excite You. Frankly I wasn't sure it would fit, but I'm happy it's finally getting the attention it deserves. It certainly wrapped up our trip to the state of Washington on a high note. My driver always knew to pull over if he spotted a rusty object. In this case, he spotted a huge bush and knew that I would want to capture it for posterity. Kudos to all. Thank you so much!
