FEATURED ON THE HOMEPAGE OF FINE ART AMERICA

A happy, upbeat image that's sure to brighten the darkest days: snow-covered glacial peaks behind Lake Bennett, a large lake on the Chilkoot Trail in both Yukon Territory and British Columbia, Canada, with the bright sun taking center-stage. A small building anchors the foreground, filled with natural foliage.

The sun shines especially bright here, reminding me of the Beatle's song "Good Day Sunshine" by Paul. The title came to me as I was processing the image. When I looked up the lyrics, I found that this scene portrays the song lyrics perfectly--a happy "coincidence"!

Bennett, British Columbia, at an elevation of 2,785 feet, is where thirty thousand stampeders spent the winter of 1898-1899, building makeshift rafts and boats during the Klondike Gold Rush to take them across Lake Bennett and down the Yukon River to the goldfields.
