Description
A scenic mostly-blue Yukon image showcasing the snow-covered glacial peaks behind Lake Bennett, a large lake on the Chilkoot Trail in both Yukon Territory and British Columbia, Canada. The peaks and steep slopes in the mountain range look especially beautiful, like they have been generously sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Bennett, British Columbia, at an elevation of 2,785 feet, is where thirty thousand stampeders spent the winter of 1898-1899, building makeshift rafts and boats during the Klondike Gold Rush to take them across Lake Bennett and down the Yukon River to the goldfields. Try to imagine that as you view this peaceful scene with no people in sight.
