Description
A field of yellow wildflowers near Navasota, Texas, brings sunshine to a cloudy, dreary day. Interesting patterns in the gray clouds above the field of flowers, in which trees punctuate the landscape and fill the horizon line beyond three fenceposts and barbed wire.
The flowers, according to my research, appear to be Damianita (Chrysactinia mexicana), a perennial native to Texas. However, because Damianita appear mainly to the west of Austin, and this field is south of Navasota, the research continues. My close-up of the individual flower, though, does look just like Damianita--so I'll go with that for now. In any case, I think it's so pretty contrasted with the cloudy gray sky.
