Description
Photographer standing in a field of bluebonnets on an overcast day, photographing the state flower of Texas, an annual form of lupine that blankets the state with soft purplish-blue spike-shaped flowers in the spring. Botanical name: Lupinus subcarnosus or Lupinus texensis. Set among pink wildflowers in a large rural field near Brenham, Texas, about 75 miles west of Houston. This is the area where the Gulf Coast Plains meet the Texas Hill Country, and the land starts to gently slope as it does here.
