Description
MAIN FEATURE ON THE HOME PAGE OF FINE ART AMERICA
Beautiful vertical macro photograph of twin red hibiscus flowers, with a magenta throat, blooming and touching for just one day in a tropical garden. This hibiscus, one of several varieties, is tagged "President Hibiscus. Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis President." It requires at least six hours of direct sun and will continue to bloom through all seasons except winter. This is growing in the Greater Houston Area of Texas, USA.
Hibiscus are in the mallow family, Malvaceae, sometimes called rose mallow. A large vivid flower often made into tea or worn in the hair, and the symbol of many nations, hibiscus bloom daily in spring and summer in tropical or subtropical areas around the world. Please see my Botanicals and Tropicals Galleries for a variety of hibiscus images to suit your needs.
