Description
Communion chalice, a classic Christian symbol, is portrayed in vintage stained glass at this white clapboard Gothic Revival church built in 1865. The site is St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located in the Port Townsend Historic District, Port Townsend, Washington. A companion stained glass window, plus other images of St. Paul's, can be found in my Port Townsend gallery.
Port Townsend is in Jefferson County, at the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula on the north shore of the state of Washington, U.S.A. More images of this lovely country church include the front steps and signature red double-doors. All are available in my Port Townsend album in color, black-and-white, and sepia.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, is included in the Port Townsend Historic District, which was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977. The architect of the church is unknown. (Information from various sources.)
