Description
FEATURED ON THE HOMEPAGE OF FINE ART AMERICA
This rusty, crusty old mid-1940s Dodge one-ton pickup truck has a new purpose in life. It serves as a charming piece of vintage yard-art for tourists traveling by train between Skagway, Alaska, and Carcross, Yukon Territory, Canada. The old hard-working truck with wooden side panels likely hauled countless loads of stuff in the Klondike area of Yukon in the post-gold-rush years. Today it's retired and looks a bit stuck in the mud.
One can't feel too sorry for this truck, though, considering all the attention it gets from travelers and the incredible beauty surrounding it. Visit my Yukon images, and you'll see what I mean. To me this is a picture of a life well-lived. Several artistic filters were used in the processing of this original photograph to augment its crusty look.
